Remote lock

Lock Your Android Devices With Your Code

Enter the user code you set in the Lock My Devices app. Every device registered with this code will lock its screen.

  • HTTPS encrypted
  • Code not stored
  • Rate-limited

Exactly as typed in the app — upper and lower case matter.

For the lock to work

  • Lock My Devices is installed and the same code was saved with Continue.
  • Device Administrator Permission is granted in the app.
  • The device is connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data).

How to lock your devices remotely

  1. 1

    Enter your code

Type the user code you entered on the User Code screen of the app.

  2. 2

    Confirm

Tap Continue, then press and hold the lock button until the ring fills.

  3. 3

    Devices lock

Every online device with that code turns its screen off and locks it. Unlock with the device’s own PIN, pattern or biometrics.

Good to know

  • Lock, not erase

Your data stays untouched. The device simply shows its normal lock screen.

  • Unlock as usual

There is no remote unlock: you unlock with the device’s own PIN, pattern or fingerprint.

  • Keep your code secret

Anyone with your code can lock (not open) your devices. Use a long, unique code.

  • Need to find the phone?

Use Google Find My Device to ring, locate or erase it after locking it here.

How it works

Frequently asked questions

Where can I see my user code?

Open Lock My Devices on any of your devices. The code is shown on the first screen (User Code) and under “UserCode” on the main screen.

Will the device lock if it is switched off or offline?

A switched-off or offline device cannot receive the command right away. Firebase Cloud Messaging keeps the command and delivers it when the device is back online, and the screen locks then.

Can I unlock my devices from this website?

No. For security there is no remote unlock. The device is unlocked with its own PIN, pattern, password or biometrics, exactly as usual.

Is it safe to type my code here?

Yes. The code is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection directly to the Lock My Devices server. The website does not save it, and repeated attempts are rate-limited.
